My first job

When I hear people complain about being overworked in their various offices,I laugh.
My first paid job was in the teaching profession. I just finished my youth Service and I needed a job. Any job at all.

Then I got one. I was to teach JS1 to JS3 English Language. I was happy. Then I reported for duty and I was told I would teach Literature in English
too. For the three classes. I took the challenge and plodded on.

My salary?. N12,000 a month. I accepted, after all I was working for the experience and also I wanted to get busy.
End of first month,no salary. We were told the salary would come before the 10th day of the coming month. We persevered, after all teaching is synonymous with suffering.

Salary came and it was 2k short. So instead of 12k,I got 10k. I was told the 2k deducted was because I missed Morning Assembly twice. Mind you,I took permission both times because I had dental issues. So,imagine if I missed the Assembly for twelve days.

I stayed on in that school for some months and at the end of the term,I told my students I would not be coming back. They are still owing me two months salary though.
Should I go and demand for my money?.

What was your first paid job and how much was your salary?
